What You Will Experience During the Last Trimester of Pregnancy?

In the last trimester of your pregnancy, it is very essential to see your doctor or midwife. During your visit, the doctor will monitor your baby's position in the uterus to make sure that it is in the right position. If it is not, the doctor may try to get your baby in its right position by pressing on the abdomen to make your baby turn. This procedure is known as external version. Your doctor will also check if you suffer from anemia and diabetes. Diabetes during pregnancy is called gestational diabetes. It can be managed through a proper diet while anemia can be managed by consuming more iron supplements.

Your last trimester of pregnancy starts at week 28. As your pregnancy reaches this last trimester, you will gain your weight to 5 kilos. This can be from your own weight while the other is from the extra blood your body produce, the uterus, the placenta (the afterbirth), the amniotic fluid and your breasts. You do not need to be worried as it normally happens. You can return to your actual weight after your baby is born.

Doing some checkups is regarded important but perhaps you want to spend a couple minutes to check the list of how your baby develops before it is born.

Week 29: your baby now reaches two thirds of its birth size. The eyes are able to close and open.

Week 30: the eyes of your baby are learning how to focus during this week.

Week 31: the lungs are mature but the lungs still need to develop a substance known as surfactant to help your baby breath after it is born.

Week 32: your baby is now about 41 cm in length and weighs about 1.8 kilos.

Week 33: your baby is now able to see the light. Its pupils contract and dilate.

Week 34: the skin of your baby becomes smoother and less wrinkled. It can differentiate between dark and light.

Week 35: your baby weighs about 2.5 kilos in this week and is 44 cm long.

When your pregnancy reaches week 36, your baby is fully mature. It will reach 50 cm in length by week 37 and weighs about 2.9 kilos in week 38. In week 40, your baby is ready to deliver. It is the time for you to see and carry your baby after enduring those hard 39 weeks.

After your baby is born, you still have to do other hard works nurturing the baby. This may be the hardest for you. Anyway, you can ask someone such as your mother to accompany you. This way, you will enjoy nurturing your first baby.

Is Yeast Infection During IVF a Problem?

Many who are going through infertility treatment have mountains of questions for their doctor, some which may arise throughout the process and may be difficult to foresee. It's best to voice any concerns you have as soon as possible to avoid complications that may be avoided had the patient been open with their doctor. Reveal any medical issues you have and answer any question that he or she asks you honestly. Being up front and honest can help avoid hassles or mix-ups along the way, which only add to the already present stress that many women go through when they're looking to get pregnant with in vitro fertilization (IVF) or other procedures.

IVF involves the combination of sperm and eggs to create embryos, which are later transferred to the uterus for implantation. As many do not understand the procedure or the science behind it, it's not uncommon that couples have questions throughout the procedure. If you have a yeast infection, make sure that you inform the doctor right away. They may even tell you what to do over the phone to save you a trip to the clinic. Higher estrogen levels such as during pregnancy, when taking hormone therapy or even when on a high dosage of estrogen birth control pills may be a cause of yeast infections. It's not uncommon to develop this while taking fertility medication or when pregnant so don't hesitate to let your doctor know so that he or she may recommend the proper treatment.

You may be given a cream or ointment to treat the infection, as oral medication may not be recommended for women who are pregnant or who are trying to get pregnant. Some opt for more natural treatment options they may hear from others or that may be recommended by their doctor or a nurse on staff at the office. You may hear that yogurt, garlic, cranberry juice may be helpful. Speak with a professional for tips on natural treatments, which may be very effective for some women.

Yeast infections may be stressful to the mother and may cause discomfort. Higher levels of stress or anxiety may lead to problems with the mother's health and, consequently, the health of the child. Keeping stress and anxiety at a low throughout the pregnancy is often recommended by many specialists and medical professionals, so speaking with the doctor and treating the infection quickly is often important.

Your Body's Changes You Will Experience During the First Trimester

As you are pregnant, you will encounter some changes in your body. This is normal for a pregnant woman as you are not alone now. You carry that tiny living creature in your womb now. Your baby will grow starting from two cells, an embryo to a mature baby which is ready to deliver. As your baby grows, you will encounter that your weight is increasing. You will have to say goodbye to your six packs belly for a while. But, don't worry too much. This is just for a while. You can manage your weight after your baby is born.

Having those changes in your body during your pregnancy may be surprising to some of you. Thus, you may consider reading the facts about those body changes so that you will enjoy your pregnancy.

In the first week of your pregnancy until week 4, you will not even realize that you are pregnant. This is because you may still have your period during these weeks.

In week 5, you may encounter the same symptoms you have as you have during your period. You will find your breast bigger and tender enough to touch. You may think that you are pregnant. In this week, your period comes late. This may be a significant sign to convince that you are pregnant but check it first. As you find your period late, do urine pregnancy test or see your doctor.

In the first day of week 6, you may feel very tired as it is the beginning of your pregnancy. To minimize the feeling you can take some exercises to make you accustomed with what your pregnancy is making on your body.

In week 7, some of you may become sensitive and emotional. While in week 8, you may be craving for foods. You may eat food you never liked before or leave your favorite food and go to bathroom very often. During week 9, there will be some changes on your skin like becoming dry and you may find pimples on it. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water to solve the problem.

In week 10, your abdomen may look bigger and you may feel that your clothing is tight in your breasts and waists area. In the next week, you may experience what is called constipation. Constipation is the result of feeling fatigue. The feeling slows down your digestion process and it results in constipation. Eating more foods containing fiber and drink enough water will decrease constipation. In the last week of your first trimester, you may experience less morning illness and tiredness. In this week, you can hear your baby heartbeat for the first time using a fetal heart detector.

Having the aforementioned body changes sometimes makes you tired. But, you can find the way to minimize the symptoms like morning illness, constipation and so on. You can also visit your doctor to ask for help. This way, your doctor will suggest you the healthier way to solve your problem during the first trimester.

Why Women Should Use A BellaBand During Their Pregnancy

The transition from pre-maternity to maternity to postpartum clothing can seem a bit frustrating, as they do not always fit as one wishes and one's body is constantly changing. Pre-maternity jeans no longer button during pregnancy yet maternity jeans are too loose. During these times of transition, renowned designer Ingrid & Isabel has created the hugely popular BellaBand, designed to solve one's clothing dilemma. No matter what stage one is at in one's pregnancy, it is an absolute must to add to one's maternity and postpartum wardrobe.

In 2001, mother and business woman Ingrid Carney found that her pre-maternity jeans were no longer buttoning. Eager to still wear them, she fashioned herself a makeshift elastic band to keep the open button flat, allowing her to wear the jeans for many more weeks. This band became the first unofficial BellaBand, and after much research and testing she founded Ingrid & Isabel and created this top selling product.

The BellaBand is made of a super soft and stretchy nylon and spandex mix, designed to fit throughout all stages of one's pregnancy. This ultra-soft knit blend combined with its seamless construction ensures that one will be comfortable throughout the entire day. There is no itching or annoying tag with this product! It is also available in a variety of colors, including but not limited to black, white, brown, and pink. For a slight variation, the Lace BellaBand offers extra feminine detail with a beautiful lace trim. Perhaps one of the best attributes is its versatility, as it can be worn through every stage of one's pregnancy and well beyond. Its cost-per-wear is fabulous, making it an excellent and smart purchase for one's wardrobe.

So well designed that it can be worn throughout one's pregnancy, it is incredible how many different ways it is used. In the early pregnancy months, it can be worn folded over one's un-buttoned pre-pregnancy bottoms to get a bit more use out of them. It can also be worn over too loose maternity clothing. In mid-pregnancy, it works so well with many maternity styles and can be worn pulled up or folded over. It conceals excess fabric, smooths out elastic waistbands, and gives that extra bit of hold to any pants that might be a bit too loose. In late pregnancy when one's belly can push down pants, skirts, or shorts, wear the BellaBand folded over to add extra reinforcement to help hold up one's bottoms. After one has given birth, it is still incredibly useful. When your maternity clothes are too big and your pre- pregnancy clothing does not quite fit again, the BellaBand can get you through this transition time. For nursing mothers it is also a huge benefit, as it can be worn pulled up over one's belly to add a bit of coverage during nursing. With so much usage and so many ways to wear it, it is a smart purchase and everyday essential to add to one's wardrobe.

Whether one is running errand or dressing up for an evening out, the BellaBand can add comfort and security to one's day. For an evening out, choose the black Lace BellaBand to wear over a sexy black skirt paired with a sophisticated silk blouse. At the office, the same one works great paired with slacks and a great blazer. When headed out for lunch with girlfriends, throw on your favorite jeans shorts and the white one paired with a cute white boyfriend t- shirt. From dressy to casual, it meets all one's needs!

No matter what stage of pregnancy one is in, Ingrid & Isabel's BellaBand is a smart and practical purchase to add to one's wardrobe. From early pregnancy to well into nursing, it will ensure one's comfort and peace of mind throughout the day. One is sure to look and feel great!

9 Tips on How to Be Supportive During Your Friend's Pregnancy

Everyone wants to be there for their friends during hard times and pregnancy can be as hard as it gets. In order to be the best friend possible you need to try to be supportive but without overstepping bounds. Here are some common faux pas to avoid and some tips on how to be helpful, supportive and carrying during your friend's pregnancy:

Don't hang out in bars. Alcohol and pregnant women don't mix and not being able to partake in all the revelry that alcohol brings can be a major downer to some women. Instead, go to a juice bar or have a small party at your home.
Try your hardest to avoid losing your temper with your friend. Pregnancy does some very strange things to a woman's mind and one of the most difficult to deal with are the mood swings. These can range from light to all-out blowups. Try to be as patient as possible, and if she really is acting strangely excuse yourself.
Keep her included in your friends' outings. Being pregnant can actually be a very lonely period of life. A pregnant woman needs support and friends who are willing to show her that she's going to be a super-cool mom.
One of the most common complaints and insecurities that women who are pregnant mention is the weight gain. Chances are that your friend might feel insecure, scared, or downright bewildered by her body's rapid changes. A truly supportive friend will realize that the expecting mom needs reassurance during this time. Tell her that she looks great and compliment that healthy pregnancy glow.
Pregnant women have cravings that they shouldn't ignore. Let her choose where to eat. In later stages of pregnancy this becomes even more important since nausea (and in bad cases vomiting) can occur if a pregnant woman smells something that isn't to her tastes.
Offer her some help with chores, work, or even financial help for baby supplies. It's a very common thing for pregnant women to feel overwhelmed with work in their condition. Sometimes a simple gesture like putting dishes in the dryer can be enough to make a mom-to-be feel a lot better.
If your friend's pregnancy was an unexpected surprise, do not be judgmental. In fact, it's best to avoid negative comments about the mom-to-be's decision to keep the baby in general. Don't offer any criticism in the realms of pregnancy, parenting, or motherhood, unless your friend has specifically asked for a brutally honest opinion. Pregnant women need support and encouragement. A disparaging remark can easily make your friend feel terrible for an entire week. Even if your friend is typically thick-skinned when it comes to such comments, commenting on anything pregnancy- or motherhood- related is not a wise idea.
Keep an eye on what your friend is eating. This tip isn't for your friend as much as it is for your friend's unborn child. If you see your friend drinking energy drinks, eating lots of mercury-rich tuna, or drinking alcohol, stop her immediately. These are foods that can be extremely dangerous to a child. Remind her of her condition and that too much of a bad thing can cause serious injury to her baby. Her child's safety is at stake and a real friend will realize that.
Lastly, be a listener. Every mom-to-be is scared, upset, worried, or just needs to rant once in a while. This kindhearted gesture is much appreciated when a mom-to-be is overwhelmed with all the changes happening to her.

To sum it up - be vigilant but diplomatic, tone down your criticism and double up your tolerance; in nine months your friend will thank you for that!

Nutrition During Confinement

While you are carrying a child in your womb you have to watch what you eat. Your food choices serve as the nutrients that are fed to your unborn child and will be the building blocks the body uses to develop that unborn baby. The better you eat, the healthier your baby will be upon birth. In fact, the healthier you eat the better you will feel and look during and after the pregnancy. These are all things any confinement nanny will advise on.

Most mothers understand this, but they don't understand that they have to continue eating as healthy as possible during confinement. The baby is developed and is no longer a part of your body, but you can still affect the health of the baby depending on the amount of nutrition you provide.

Nutrition for the Breastfeeding Mother

If you choose to breastfeed your baby, then what you eat is just as important to your baby as it was when you were pregnant. The food you eat is passed to the baby through your breast milk. If you aren't eating healthy foods packed with nutrients that the baby needs, then the baby won't get what they need to continue growing and developing.

When you eat healthy foods during confinement the nutrients the baby needs are passed through the milk and your baby has a much healthier start on life. They are more likely to grow big and strong with all functions inside the body working as they should. That's the amazing thing about nutrition!

This is why any confinement nanny or doctor will advise a breastfeeding mother not to start dieting right after giving birth. They need the nutrients in healthy foods to pass on to the baby and most women strictly dieting will not deliver the amount of nutrients the baby needs.

A good confinement nanny can actually prepare very healthy foods that help with weight loss without strictly counting calories or restricting in other ways that are too much during breastfeeding. This is far better than dieting!

Nutrition for the Bottle-Feeding Mother

If you decide to feed your baby with a bottle or cannot breastfeed for some reason, that doesn't give you a free pass to neglect your diet or to crash diet to lose the baby weight quickly. Your body still needs to heal from the birth of the baby and the months of pregnancy. You need to eat healthy foods that allow your own body to heal.

Eating a well balanced, healthy diet will naturally help with shedding the baby weight. It will also help you keep your energy levels high so you are able to get through the hard days of raising an infant. Of course, having a confinement nanny on board will make meal planning and prep much easier to balance with the needs of the new baby.

Whether you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed, it is important to make sure your food intake is as healthy as possible after having the baby. The easiest way to do this is to hire a confinement nanny skilled in the kitchen. They don't necessarily have to serve your entire family, but they should be able to look after the food choices for you to ensure you heal properly and support the baby if breastfeeding.
